Gregory Demers’ practice is focused on business and estate planning law.
Mr. Demers has spent over twenty years representing hundreds of family owned and closely held businesses from across Michigan. Greg’s experience enables him to assist business clients facing a wide variety of complex issues including: buying and selling businesses to third parties or key employees; passing on the business to family members by sale or gift during lifetime or through the estate plan; and resolving disputes among owners of businesses.
After graduation from law school Greg served as attorney advisor to a United States Tax Court judge. He joined the Firm in 1982, and formerly served as its managing partner. He is currently the chair of the Firm’s business law section. Greg is a past president of the Northeast Michigan Estate Planning Council and regularly speaks to professional groups, focusing on methods to eliminate probate and avoid taxes.
